Deepika padukone's Passion on sports
Mumbai, Oct 29 (IANS) Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone says she wants to do a sports-based film, preferably on badminton, her father's sport.

"Look at what 'Chak De India' did to hockey. I would love to do a really good film on the game of badminton. In fact, efforts are on to put a project like this together."

"I would like to contribute as much as possible to sports. Yes, I'd support badminton more than any other sport. But I'd like to support Indian sports in every way possible," she said.

Deepika, who played badminton with her dad Prakash Padukone, said the two were playing together after a long time and for the first time in front of media.

She said she is good at time management and that comes from being a sport person. "I started travelling at a very young age. That taught me to be punctual."

Sharing her experience on the stunts and martial arts performed in "Chandni Chowk To China", Deepika said she got herself a chronically sprained ankle.

"The stunts in 'Chandni Chowk To China' were tough. Fortunately I got no broken bones. But I got a twisted ankle which will remain with me. My left ankle will remain sprained for all my life."

"I sprained it once while rehearsing and then I sprained the same ankle at exactly the same place twice again. Luckily it's not a fracture. But I can't sit cross-legged or sit on my hunches... I can't do anything that requires me to put my weight on my left leg," she said.

Being from an athletic family, Deepika always wanted to do an action film.

"Yes, I always wanted to do an action character. I'm glad I got an opportunity. Akshay Kumar was a fantastic co-star. The way he comes on the sets and goes through the scenes of the day and the way he improvises, is tremendous."

Speaking on endorsements, Deepika said she has turned down the Nakshatra diamond deal after Aishwarya Rai's contract ended.

"I don't know who else they went to. But they did come to me. And things didn't work out. I'm as selective about my endorsements as I am about my movies. I'd definitely endorse brands that I believe in. I'd like to represent brands that suit my age. I'm endorsing the Signature brand for Levis, Kingfisher Airlines, Tissot."

I charge what I'm worth: Deepika Padukone

I charge what I'm worth: Deepika Padukone

You have always heard them say that 'A Diamond is a girl's best friend'. But have you ever wondered that who is a guy's best friend? Well, we cannot speak for others though, but one thing's for sure that if the guy is Ranbir Kapoor, then, his best friend HAS to be Deepika Padukone, who also is the cover-girl for this issue of the fashion magazine ‘Grazia’!

If looking a thousand bucks means looking beautiful, then, the snaps of Deepika in this issue simply makes her priceless! Maybe, that's why she is justified to the core when she declares that "I charge what I think I am worth and if people are willing to pay me that much, it must mean that they think that I'm worth it too. No one affords risks like investing in actors they don't really believe in." Deepika is one girl, who can glorifyingly justify the term 'Hot Property' with her elegance and persona to match!

Lastly, to add a few words of wisdom, let us also tell you that Prakash Padukone, besides being an ace badminton player and also Deepika's proud father, is also the reason as to why she is so much grounded even though at the peak of her career! In her own admission, she says "My father's always told me that fame is temporary and it's not important to dwell on it too much."

With those values intact, Deepika surely will climb the ladder of success in this glam world.

Deepika padukone and her Secrets

Two films. Two hits. And Deepika Padukone is comfortably placed as the top choices for a heroine when it comes to mainstream Bollywood. No wonder, she finds herself on the hot seat as Sajid Khan chats up with her on Sajid Superstars.

Famous for his scandalous quizzing Shahid the host asked the actress to choose her favorite actor between Shah Rukh Khan and Akshay Kumar. She replied: `When Shah Rukh Khan acts, the nation rocks with him. And when Akshay acts, he rocks the nation`.

Later on, Deepika reveals details about her growing-up days. She took badminton quite seriously in the early years and was amongst the top three in her state (Karnataka) when she was just over 15 years old. Even today, she maintains that she can give quite a few a run for their money on the badminton court.
She was also asked a question to choose the better looking man between father, Prakash Padukone and boyfriend Ranbir Kapoor (we would probably say the father, but the actress has her own answer).
The world is also aware about her alleged involvement with Yuvraj Singh and it was inevitable that she was thrown a query about his presence at her birthday party.Deepika`s reply? `Well, he is a friend and was there having dinner with us. Period.
Remembering her growing up years, Deepika confesses she had a huge crush on Arjun Rampal. The man was understandably embarrassed when Deepika told him the same during the shooting of Om Shanti Om.But the Bangalore lass is now all loyal and committed to Ranbir Kapoor and admits that she belongs to the `pati parmeshwar` kind, who would love to see herself married to him 10 years down the line with a number of kids around her.
